Health and Wellness Leader Posture Group Launches DSE Workstation Assessment Training and Self Assessment Software

(PRWeb UK) November 9, 2010

Health and wellness leader Posture Group today launches the latest version of its online DSE workstation assessment training and self assessment software for single users, home users or small companies with up to 50 employees.

Single users or home office users can register their details, pay for the system by credit card and complete the training and workstation assessment questionnaire there and then with a detailed assessment report and summary provided on completion of the assessment.

Small companies with up to 50 employees can register their details, pay for the system and then completely customise the system to their requirements before automatically launching the system for all employees. Companies can login into an administration system to view all the completed workstation assessments and any outstanding issues or risks that require attention to improve health and wellness.

More than 5,000 single users and 3,000 businesses with multiple users have used Posture Group’s online DSE workstation assessment system to train themselves and assess their workstations, or the workstations of their staff.

workstationassessments.co.uk has been developed by Posture Group who provide in excess of 120,000 face to face DSE workstation assessments annually via our team of 250+ ergonomics, physiotherapy, health and wellness and safety consultants UK-wide. Our consultants have developed the online workstation assessment system to streamline what they do face to face and the system provides a comprehensive workstation setup and posture training animated video combined with a follow on detailed workstation self assessment questionnaire and report with the findings and recommendations on completion.

Online workstation assessments cost £10 per license for a single license or up to 20 licenses and £8 per license for 21 to 50 licenses. The cost of a face to face workstation assessment is about £60 – £80 for a single assessment and about £36 – £40 per assessment for multiple assessments, so the cost saving to you is about 80% for a single assessment and 85% for multiple assessments.

The online DSE workstation assessment system will ensure that home workers and small offices comply with the Health and Safety Display Screen Equipment regulations 1992 and the system is automatically updated with any changes to the regulations. The regulations seek to protect the health and wellness of any worker, home or office based, by reducing risks from VDU or computer work.

Online Cosmetology Assessment from SkillsUSA Now Available

Online Cosmetology Assessment from SkillsUSA Now Available

Leesburg, VA (Vocus) March 16, 2009

SkillsUSA announces today the introduction of a new online, technical assessment to help candidates prove entry-level cosmetology proficiency.

“Our Skill Connect Assessments align with education and industry standards to provide employers a trusted evaluation of entry-level technical skills,” said Tim Lawrence, SkillsUSA Executive Director. “Our goal is to lift up students and those outside of traditional education programs as they contribute to our future work force.”

The Cosmetology Skill Connect Assessment evaluates entry-level knowledge and skills in long hair design, lady’s cut and style, men’s cut and style, and men’s short cut through interactive questions with media-rich content. Videos and animations enable a more accurate evaluation of practical knowledge than text-only assessments. These assessments are hosted on the patented LearnMate system, which enables real-time, dynamic reporting available to instructors and administrators. SkillsUSA also created an employability assessment to evaluate soft skills.

“We’ve sought input from more than 3,000 instructors, state directors of education, and industry partners nationwide,” Lawrence said. “Not only has their feedback guided the development of Skill Connect Assessments, but it has also been valuable in determining how to make the system user-friendly and beneficial for students, instructors, and potential employers.”

Industry experts who participated in the development of the Cosmetology Skill Connect Assessment came from the following organizations: Burmax, CMW, Inc., Delmar, Cengage Learning, Fantastic Sams International Corporation, Marianna, The Hair Cuttery, and Regis Corporation.

All assessments align to Perkins IV accountability measures, as issued by the U.S. Department of Education. Additionally, each assessment was developed with industry and education leaders working together to identify the appropriate criterion and testing methodology. Once developed, assessments were evaluated by psychometricians for reliability in comparison to field test data before becoming available for purchase.

Assessments are available today, costing only $ 5 for SkillsUSA members or $ 20 per assessment for nonmembers. Each Skill Connect Assessment consists of approximately 50 items and takes an estimated 60 minutes to complete. Items are delivered randomly from an item bank, as are the possible answers to each question according to the assessment blueprint defined. To purchase assessments or for a complete list of all technical assessments and their expected availability, visit http://www.workforcereadysystem.org.

About SkillsUSA and the Work Force Ready System

Skill Connect Assessments are one of four components in the SkillsUSA Work Force Ready System, which was developed as an extension of the SkillsUSA mission and supported by a grant from the W.K. Kellogg Foundation. The System recognizes students for excellence in occupational training; it assesses and documents the entry-level technical proficiency and cumulative experiences of candidates. The unique collaboration between employers and educators also improves instructional programs and provides teachers with a system that is easy to use. For more information about the SkillsUSA Work Force Ready System, visit http://www.workforcereadysystem.com.

SkillsUSA is a partnership of students, teachers and industry working together to ensure America has a skilled work force. SkillsUSA serves more than 300,000 students and instructors annually and has served more than nine million members since its founding in 1965. The organization has 19,333 member sections in every state, three territories and the District of Columbia member classrooms in 54 states and territorial associations. Nearly 16,300 instructors and administrators are professional members of SkillsUSA. For more information about SkillsUSA, visit http://www.skillsusa.org.

The W.K. Kellogg Foundation was established in 1930 “to help people help themselves through the practical application of knowledge and resources to improve their quality of life and that of future generations.” Its programming activities center around the common vision of a world in which each person has a sense of worth; accepts responsibility for self, family, community, and societal well-being; and has the capacity to be productive, and to help create nurturing families, responsive institutions, and healthy communities.

To achieve its greatest impact, the Foundation targets grants toward specific areas. These include health; food systems and rural development; youth and education; and philanthropy and voluntarism. Within these areas, attention is given to exploring learning opportunities in leadership; information and communication technology; capitalizing on diversity; and social and economic community development. Grants are concentrated in the United States, Latin America and the Caribbean, and southern Africa.

Censeo Introduces New Pharmaceutical/Biotech District Manager 360-Degree Feedback Tool

Censeo Introduces New Pharmaceutical/Biotech District Manager 360-Degree Feedback Tool

Maitland, FL (PRWEB) June 30, 2006

Censeo Corporation is pleased to announce the company’s latest online assessment, the District Manager 360-degree Feedback Tool. Designed specifically for the needs of field sales managers in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries, the tool allows clients to accurately assess leadership competencies both at the individual and organizational level.

Using a multi-rater (i.e., 360-degree) approach, managers are able to gain valuable insight into their personal leadership behaviors from several perspectives: their sales representatives, their peers, their manager, and their own self-assessment. This 360-degree approach is widely accepted as one of the most accurate and impactful assessment processes available.

Once the assessment is complete, managers receive a detailed feedback report that helps them understand their personal strengths and areas for improvement, how their own perceptions compare to others within their organization, and how their unique performance “measures up” against other district sales managers in the industry. The report also provides managers with a set of intuitive, practical suggestions for improving their leadership skills over time.

“Our team is truly excited about this developmental tool because it addresses one of the biggest challenges facing the industry: DMs struggling in their leadership role,” said Censeo Vice President/Co-founder Jim Higgins. “We think the market is long overdue in providing an accurate, intuitive and affordable multi-rater assessment – an assessment specifically designed to assess behaviors that are critical to success as a field sales manager in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries.”

Harcourt Assessment Report: Measuring Recruits’ Abilities, Work Styles and Skills Ensures a Successful Hire

Harcourt Assessment Report: Measuring Recruits’ Abilities, Work Styles and Skills Ensures a Successful Hire

SAN ANTONIO, TX (PRWEB) December 11, 2006

A combination of assessment solutions that analyze work styles, abilities and skills is necessary to successfully achieve a good hire, according to a new white paper entitled Retain Your Employees Before You Hire Them. The white paper was released today by leading talent assessment provider Harcourt Assessment.

“The most important step to retention begins before the hire,” explains Phillip Weiss, VP, Human Resources, for Harcourt Assessment. “A variety of assessment solutions are available to help employers tackle the problem of employee turnover head-on.”

A thorough, well-conceived and objectively-qualified hiring process results in a better understanding of a candidate as an individual. The key combination is assessing a person’s cognitive abilities, work style and skills. With this layered effort, the right candidates are identified at the start of the recruiting process, and recruiting misfires are significantly reduced. Personality assessments help ensure an employee’s job satisfaction, and determine how well the individual matches an organization’s values and culture.

Harcourt’s talent assessment solutions are grouped for employers’ convenience with solutions available to meet a host of needs, including general tests of skills and abilities, work styles and interests or specific occupational or industry needs. To sustain retention efforts, Harcourt also provides assessments for continued development in the areas of team building, personality and self-awareness.

Assessments help identify individuals with a strong passion for the company and the job – providing recruiters with the ability to quickly weed out those who may not be retainable.

“Personality and ability are complex qualities that cannot be adequately determined from an interview or by reading a resume. Just because someone is qualified on paper doesn’t mean they will be ideal for the job,” adds Judy Chartrand, Director, Talent Assessment. “Assessment provides employers with better information about candidates. With the technology and expertise available today, it makes good sense to incorporate assessments into the hiring strategy.”

The report can be downloaded by visiting Harcourt Assessment. It includes case studies, survey findings and data on employers’ turnover challenges and provides data on how personality and ability assessments can deliver a high-performance workforce.

For more information on Harcourt Assessment, visit http://www.AssessTalent.com.
